About The Event
We are excited to invite you to our upcoming August lunch meeting on Wednesday, August 21st, 2024, featuring a presentation by Jill C. Trepanier, Ph.D., Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Geography and Anthropology at Louisiana State University. Dr. Trepanier specializes in extreme weather risk, employing statistical and mapping techniques to analyze the nature of extreme weather in both present and future climates.

Dr. Trepanier’s current research passion is tropical cyclones, though she is interested in all destructive weather events. Her work aims to educate people in harm's way and those responsible for protection and mitigation. With over 12 years of experience at LSU, Dr. Trepanier has earned numerous research grants and fellowships, including from NASA and the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Gulf Research Program.
